George Thomas Cotton was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England on March 12, 1880. He immigrated to the United States in 1886 and was naturalized February 10, 1905. He married Mary Emma Cotton. They moved to Panama around 1920 so that George could work for the Panama Canal Company. Upon retirement he remained in Panama. He died at Coco Solo on June 30, 1962 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
