Joseph Alfred Cote was born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1889. He served in the U.S. Armed Services. After he was discharged, he moved to Panama and worked for several years as an accountant for the Panama Canal Company. He married Beatrice Da Costa. Then he worked as a civilian for the U.S. Army in Panama. On December 23, 1936, he died on the corner of Ancon Avenue and "K" Street, Panama City of a heart ailment. He was cremated and buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
