Wade Hampton Cook was born in Concord, North Carolina on March 11, 1896. He married Lucy Reinhardt and worked as a shovel operator on a road in the Cinchona Section of Costa Rica (Defense Project No. 1) - On December 13, 1944, he was suffocated by a landslide and buried in Vault 91, of the West wall of Mausoleum, Cemetario General, San Jose, Costa Rica. Later he was disinterred and buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
