Charles A. Cook was born in Newark, New Jersey on August 20, 1880. He married Catherine Cook from Ireland and they moved to the Canal Zone in about 1914. Catherine died in about 1919. He married Mercedes from Managua, Nicaragua in about 1922. Some years later he married Maria de Cook. He worked for the Panama Canal Company and upon retirement he continued to live in Panama. He died from pulmonary tuberculosis on September 11, 1945 at the Gorgas Hospital and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
