First Lieutenant Charles F. Conry was born in Fremont, Ohio on January 22, 1882. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in June 15, 1904 as a Second Lieutenant and served at many posts finally assigned to Company K, 10th Infantry at Camp E. S. Otis, Las Cascadas Canal Zone, where he was promoted to First Lieutenant. While on a reconnaissance, he accidentally drowned in the Chagres River near Gatum Lake on April 25, 1913 and was buried at Ancon Cemetery. He was reinterred in Section A, Old Corozal Cemetery in March 1914. His remains could not be found so he is honored at Section C, Row 10, Grave 344, Corozal American Cemetery in 1981.
