Emma C. Clapp was born in New York City on March 25, 1881 of German parents. About 1911, she married Benjamin Winthrop Capp and accompanied him to Pedro Miguel, Balboa District, Canal Zone, where he worked for the Panama Canal Company. She died on October 26, 1938 and is buried at the Corozal American Cemetery with her husband, Benjamin.
