Notes
Charles Washington Childers was born in Kissimmee, Florida on March 2, 1887. He enlisted as a Private with the 39th Coast Artillery Regiment on January 16, 1909 at Fort De Soto, Florida and was discharged on January 17, 1911 at Fort Morgan, Alabama. He then worked for the American Cyanide Company at Brewster, Florida. Later, he moved to the Canal Zone and was employed as a civilian with the Department of Engineering, Panama Canal Company. He died at the Gorgas Hospital on May 14, 1943 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
