Charles E. Chase was born in Costa Rica on October 17, 1917. He was the son of Charles Albert and Rosa Ermalinda Sanabria Chase, Americans. He moved to the Canal Zone and worked for the Panama Canal Company. He married Rita Zoraida Apestegui Chase on August 5, 1939. After retirement he remained in the Canal Zone. He died on December 14, 1979 and is buried at the Corozal American Cemetery with his wife, Rita, and near his parents.
