Frank Chapman was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on August 20, 1892. He enlisted in the Army on August 7, 1913 and was promoted to Private First Class in the 2nd Company, Coast Artillery, Galveston, Texas and honorably discharged on June 4, 1920 at Fort Crockett, Texas after serving during World War I. He moved to the Canal Zone and married Adella B. Chapman. He worked for the Army as a pipefitter. He died on February 16, 1961 at Coco Solo, Panama. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
