James H. Chaplin was an American born in 1843. He was working as a steward and living at Culebra, Panama. He died on October 18, 1904 at the Ancon Hospital. He was buried at Ancon Cemetery. In 1914, he was scheduled for re-interment at Corozal, but his remains could not be found. To honor him a headstone was placed at Section K, Row 11, Plot 10, Corozal American Cemetery.
