Second Lieutenant James M. Cassidy was born in the United States on March 2, 1920. During World War II, he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Force and assigned to the 2nd Fighter Squadron. On March 1, 1943 he was killed while on active duty when his aircraft crashed in Uramita, Colombia. He was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
