Chief Storekeeper Joseph Gerard Gregory Casey was born in New York City on March 12, 1911. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 10, 1942 and served as Chief Storekeeper aboard the auxiliary ship, USS Anthedom (AS-24). After the war, he married Carmen Ternes and lived in the Canal Zone working as a U.S. Navy civilian. He died on August 13, 1981 at the Gorgas Hospital and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
