John Campbell was born in Jamaica in 1856. He moved to Panama for employment. He was a non- Isthmus Canal Company employee, but worked for the Panama Railroad Company for eight years. He became a naturalized US citizen. He died on November 29, 1905. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
