George Alfred Caldwell was born in Kentucky in 1865. He moved to the Canal Zone where he was appointed as a draftsman in the Division of Building Construction, Isthmus Canal Company on July 29, 1904 and was transferred to the Sanitation Department on January 1,1907. He died on August 26, 1911 at the Colon Hospital. He was cremated and his cremains were stored at the Gorgas Mortuary. Upon request of the mortuary, his cremains were buried at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
