Lieutenant Commander Renwick Silas Calderhead was born in Dawson, Canada on July 29, 1903. He was commissioned in the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander (Aviation) during World War II. He became a naturalized US citizen. He died while on active duty on August 20, 1942 from an airplane crash at Manzanillo Bay. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
