Stephen Byrne was born in Ireland on June 27, 1869. He immigrated to the United States and became a naturalized citizen. He enlisted in the US Army and became a Sergeant in the Quartermaster Corps. After his service he moved to Panama and was employed as a manager in the Supply Division, Panama Canal Company. He died on June 27, 1926 and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
