Patrick Byrne was born in Lonsdale, Rhode Island on October 15, 1862. He moved to Lodi, New Jersey. During the Spanish-American War, he enlisted on May 12, 1898 in the Army as a Private in Company G, 1st Rhode Island Infantry. He was mustered out with a disability on March 3, 1899. He was employed as a jeweler. He joined the soldiers home on December 24, 1907 and received a pension of $30 per month. He died on December 4, 1929 and is buried at the Corozal American Cemetery with his wife, Elizabeth Byrne, and his son, George H. Byrne.
