Gaston Butcher was the 15 year old American son of lock operator Adrian Butcher from France and Martha Hills from West Virginia. He died on August 13, 1917 at the Ancon Hospital. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
