First Lieutenant Bruch was a member of the 333rd Tactical Fighter Squadron. On April 29, 1966, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a mission about 12 miles northeast of Hanoi, North Vietnam, when his aircraft was hit by hostile fire and crashed. Listed as missing in action or unrecoverable, his remains have recovered and identified. His is name is permanently inscribed on the Vietnam Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
