For his leadership and valor, First Lieutenant Boyer was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War Service Medal, the Asia Theater Medal, European Theater Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Notes
First Lieutenant Boyer was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Headquarters Company, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Hagaru-ri, North Korea on December 5, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
