Notes
Major Bowles was a member of the 562nd Tactical Fighter Squadron. On November 3, 1965, he was the pilot of a Thunderchief Fighter (F-105D) on a mission over North Vietnam when his plane crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
