Chief Warrant Officer, Second Class Boltze was a member of SU-1, 1st Air-Naval Gunfire Liaison Company. On October 6, 1972, he was the spotter in a North American Rockwell Bronco (OV10-A) over Danang, South Vietnam when his aircraft exploded. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
