Carlos Enrique Bech was born in Guatemala City on April 10, 1925. He was raised in Indiana. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned as a Private First Class with the 9201st Technical Service Unit training Center, Quartermaster Detachment #24 during World War II. After the war he served as a Corporal with the U.S. Army Air Force until 1950. He remained in Panama working for the Panama Canal Company. Upon retirement he remained in Panama. He died on January 9, 2008 at San Juan Bautista, Chitre and is buried at the Corozal American Cemetery with his son, Edgar Enrique Bech and his wife, Yolanda Magdalena Bech.
