James Barry was born in the United States in 1885. He moved to Panama where he was employed as a prize fighter, living at Broadway, Colon. He died on March 12, 1917 at the Colon Hospital. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
