Joseph Steven Banievicz was born in the United States on January 21, 1905. He was married and enlisted in the Army Air Corps (U.S. Air Force) and was promoted to Master Sergeant. He served during World War II and the Korean War. After retiring for the Air Force, he moved to Panama to live. He died on August 7, 1985 at the Gorgas Army Hospital and was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
