Eleuterio Balquin was a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Irosin,in the Philippines on September 5, 1888. In 1911, he enlisted in the Regiment of Philippine Scouts where he served until 1914. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1917 serving to 1919; following Army service, he then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Trenton. His Naval service was from 1919 to 1940, being promoted to Musician First Class Upon being honorably discharged from U.S. Navy, he moved to the Canal Zone. MUS1C Balquin was married to Celina B. Balquuin. He became a naturalized American citizen on February 26, 1935. He died on February 2, 1955. He was buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery then reinterred at the Corozal American Cemetery in 1979.
