Lieutenant Colonel Allen was the Commanding Officer of the 811th Engineer Aviation Construction Battalion, responsible for the construction and maintenance of Kimpo Airfield (K-14), South Korea. He was Killed in Action when his jeep struck an enemy mine on September 26, 1952.
