Notes
Torpedoman Roy Adair was born in Georgia on February 19, 1905. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 18 years. During World War II he was a Torpedoman aboard the submarine "USS Bass" (SS-164). On August 17, 1942, while the submarine was submerged, a fire started in the aft battery room and spread to the torpedo room killing 25 crew members from asphyxiation from poisonous gas. He was buried at the Corozal American Cemetery.
