Major Knudtson was a member of the 64th Bomber Squadron at Hunter Air Force Base, Tucson, Arizona. On November 6, 1952, he was the commander of a B-50 bomber on a training flight from Hunter to an Air Base at Upper Heyford, England. The aircraft crashed at Dunmow, England and exploded. |
