Master Sergeant Fritz was the crew chief of a B36D bomber with the 9th Bomber Squadron, 7th Bomber Wing assigned to Carswell Air Force Base, Texas. On May 6. 1951, the aircraft was enroute from Carswell AFB to Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It crashed during the landing at Kirtland AFB, killing 23 on board. |
