Airman Lovvorn was a radio operator on a B-29 Superfortress Bomber with the 352nd Bomber Squadron, 301st Bomber Wing based at Upper Heyford Air Base, England. On February 2, 1953, his aircraft was taking off from Wheelus Field, Tripoli, Libya when it crashed killing fifteen members of the crew. |
