Captain Drake was a veteran of World War II. During the Korean War, he was a member of the U.S. Air Force stationed in California. On September 4, 1951, he and his wife, Captain Clara Sullivan Drake, were riding in a civilian twin-engine Cessna, when it crashed near Anchorage, Alaska killing them both. |
