Second Lieutenant Familia was the bombardier of a B-26C with the 8th Bomber Squadron, 3rd Bomber Wing based at Kusan Airfield (K-8), South Korea. On April 19, 1952, after take off on a combat mission, the aircraft crashed into the Yellow Sea one mile from shore. He was presumed dead on May 4, 1952. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
