Staff Sergeant Hensley was a crew member of a C-119 flying Boxcar with the 815th Troop Carrier Squadron, 483rd Troop Carrier Wing. He was Killed in Action on June 23, 1953, when his plane crashed in the ocean off Tsukishima Island, near Hiroshima, Japan while transporting paratroopers of the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team to Korea. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
