Major Davis was the pilot of a F4U-4 Corsair fighter with the Marine Fighter Squadron 312, Marine Air Group 12, 1st Marine Air Wing. On February 24, 1951, while on a combat mission west of Hoengsong, South Korea, his aircraft lost its right wing, crashed and burned. |
