He and five other seamen were listed as Missing in Action, when the whaleboat they were in disappeared in Inchon Harbor, South Korea on March 12, 1951.Airman Caprio was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. |
