Airman Flanigan was a crew member aboard the aircraft carrier USS SHANGRI LA (CV 38), stationed at the Navy Yard Annex, Boston, Massachusetts. On April 2, 1952, he was painting the underside of a gun mount on the carrier when the staging broke and he fell to his death. |
