Aviation Electronics Technician First Class Tooker was the radarman of an AD-3Q Skyraider dive bomber with Detachment 41, Composite Squadron 33 aboard the aircraft carrier USS BON HOMME RICHARD (CVA-31). On July 11, 1952, his aircraft was diving at a target at Pyongyang, North Korea, when it was hit by anti-aircraft fire. It lost part of its tail surface and crashed about a mile away. He was presumed dead on May 25, 1954. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
