Sergeant First Class Cross was a member of the 1st Platoon, Company K, 3rd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was seriously wounded while fighting the enemy on "Christmas Hill", near DT 019-405, North Korea on July 27, 1953 by enemy mortar fragments and died of those wounds later that day just prior to the Truce. |
