Lieutenant Colonel Rahe was a passenger on a PBM-5 Mariner patrol bomber from Patrol Squadron 46 U.S. Navy. On January 11, 1951, his aircraft crashed at sea near Amani O'Shima, Japan and he drowned. His remains were not recovered. |
