Staff Sergeant McKinney was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was Wounded in Action by North Korean infiltrators fighting south of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on March 15, 1967 and was killed when his rescue helicopter crashed. |
