Sergeant First Class Villarreal was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. On October 4, 1951, enemy artillery fire from an unknown location fell upon his unit. He volunteered to lead a squad to probe the area. He destroyed an enemy bunker and was charging a second position, when he was mortally wounded. |
