Sergeant First Class Powell was a member of the 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was seriously injured in South Korea on September 14, 1950 and returned to duty on May 1, 1951. He was seriously wounded by an enemy missile in North Korea on June 5, 1951 and died of those wounds on June 10, 1951. |
