First Lieutenant Burrows was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. In Korea, he was a tank commander with Company L, 3rd Battalion, the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy near Unsan, North Korea on November 2, 1950 and died while a prisoner of Beriberi on January 31, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
