Sergeant Romeo was a member of Company K, 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. Initially he was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the Chinese near Unsan, North Korea on November 2, 1950. Later it was determined he had been taken Prisoner of War on that date and died while a prisoner on December 31, 1950. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
