Corporal Moreno was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a member of Company I, 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was taken Prisoner of War on July 12, 1950 while fighting a delaying action between Pyongtaek and Chochiwon, South Korea. He was taken north during the "Tiger Death March" to the south bank of the Yalu River. He died at An-Dong on May 17, 1951 from malnutrition. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. |
