Sergeant First Class Wilson was a member of Command and Control Central, 5th Special Forces Group. On October 19, 1970, he was the team leader of a long range Reconnaissance patrol that made contact with the enemy in the tri-border of Laos southwest of Ben Het that made contact with a superior enemy force. Sergeant First Class Wilson was declared Missing in Action. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
