Captain Walker was a member of the 1st Air Commando Squadron at Pleiku Air Base, South Vietnam. On October 2, 1964, he was the pilot of a Douglas Skyraider Attack Aircraft (A1-E) on a mission over Tra Vinh Province, South Vietnam, when the aircraft was disabled from hostile fire and crashed into the South China Sea. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
