Captain Strobridge was a member of Battery F, 79th Artillery Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. On May 11, 1972, he was the co-pilot of a Bell Cobra Attack Helicopter (AH-1G) supporting allied forces at An Loc, Binh Long Province, South Vietnam. While pulling off the target, the aircraft was hit by a surface to air missile, went into a spin and crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
