Warrant Officer, First Class Paul was a member of Troop D, 3rd Squadron, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division. On February 5, 1971, he was the co-pilot of a Bell Cobra Attack Helicopter (AH-1G) on an extraction mission near Khe Sanh, South Vietnam. Weather moved in causing the aircraft to crash into a mountain side. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
